Global Shipping & Delivery: Facts, FAQ and Responsibilities

Last Updated: 10 March 2026

At Michael Moder Trade Limited, we take pride in our logistics. While nearly 100% of our shipments are successfully delivered, international transport involves third-party carriers and customs authorities. Below are the facts and common questions regarding your order's journey from our Irish warehouse to your door.

📦 Key Delivery Facts

  • Centralized Logistics: All products are in stock and dispatched exclusively from our central warehouse in Ireland.

  • Dispatch Speed: We aim to process and send orders usually by the next business day after payment.

  • Reliability: Loss or permanent disappearance of a package is extremely rare (less than 0.1% of cases).

  • Packaging: Every order is professionally packed using high-quality protective materials to withstand international transit.

🌍 International Customs & VAT (Non-EU Countries)

If you are ordering from outside the European Union, your package may be subject to local customs procedures. All duties and taxes are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

United Kingdom (UK)

  • The £135 Rule: Orders below £135 usually benefit from faster clearance. Orders above £135 are subject to UK Import VAT and Customs Duty.

  • Recommendation: To ensure the fastest delivery, we recommend keeping individual orders between €100 and €130.

USA

  • Mandatory Duties: As of 2026, most imports from the EU (including cosmetics) are subject to a minimum 15% tariff.

  • No Exemptions: All parcels must clear customs. Ensure your email and phone number are correct so the carrier can contact you for payment.

Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein

These countries are not members of the EU customs union.

  • Iceland: VAT (24%) and duties apply to goods exceeding 10,000 ISK.

  • Norway: VAT (25%) and duties apply to goods exceeding 350 NOK.

  • Switzerland: VAT and duties apply to goods exceeding 65 CHF.

  • Liechtenstein: Swiss customs rules generally apply.

⚠️ Why do delays occur? (Factors beyond our control)

Once a package leaves our warehouse in Ireland, the delivery timeframe is managed by international carriers (DPD, DHL, Royal Mail, etc.) and national customs. Delays may occur due to:

  1. Customs Clearance: This is the most common cause of delay. We cannot influence the speed of government customs officers.

  2. Incorrect Address: The customer is responsible for providing a complete and valid address. Small errors can lead to the package being held at a local depot.

  3. Carrier Logistics: Issues such as transport capacity, sorting errors, or local strikes in the destination country.

  4. Air Freight Availability: Global transit routes may occasionally experience delays due to flight schedules or technical issues.

🚫 Uncollected and Returned Packages (Strict Policy)

The customer is responsible for monitoring the tracking of their package.

  • Failed Delivery: If you are not home or fail to respond to the carrier's notification, the package will be held at a local post office or depot for a limited time.

  • Zero Refund Policy: If a shipment is returned to Ireland because it was uncollected, ignored, or rejected by the buyer (due to customs fees or any other reason), no refund will be issued.

  • Reshipment: If the parcel is returned to us and you still wish to receive it, you will be required to pay the full postage cost again for a new shipment.

🛡️ Damages and Lost Packages

  • Transit Damage: In the exceptional case of damage, you must provide clear photos of the unopened shipping box and the damaged contents.

  • Claims: We will initiate an investigation with the carrier. Replacements or refunds are only processed once the carrier officially confirms the fault in writing.

Thank you for your understanding. We live in a complex global world where the quality of postal services has shifted. While we cannot control the entire world’s infrastructure, we promise to do our absolute best at our end in Ireland to get your health and beauty products to you as fast as possible.
